On August 19, 1909, in the first year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge was completed and opened to traffic. In 1928, the 17th year of the Republic of China, it was named "Zhongshan Bridge" in memory of Mr. Sun Yat-sen. The Lanzhou Yellow River Iron Bridge is the first bridge in the entire northwest region of China to be built with foreign technology in modern history.
