Phra Kong Rishi Temple, Lamphun

#Get a discount without relying on luck - Wat Phra Kong Rishi or Wat Anantharam is located in Tambon Nai Mueang. It is a temple built during the reign of Queen Chamadevi, who ruled Hariphunchai. In this temple, there is Phra Kong, which is a sacred amulet and is another respected amulet of Lamphun. It is one of the 4 temples in 4 corners of the city where amulets of Lamphun were found. It is believed that the amulets excavated here are Phra Kong, which Vasuthep Rishi and Sukkadanta Rishi built the temple, so it is called Wat Phra Kong Rishi. From then on, Wat Phra Kong Rishi was originally called "Wat Aphattharam". Queen Chamadevi ordered it to be built to offer to monks from Sri Lanka to use as a place to stay and practice asceticism. It is the place where "Phra Kong" is enshrined. According to legend, Vasuthep Rishi used his cane to scratch the ground to draw a plan of Lamphun city at this pagoda. Queen Chamadevi therefore built a pagoda in a square shape. Then he ordered the craftsmen to carve the figures of the four sages, each holding a walking stick in his hand. The carved statues of the sages made of red stone, when completed, were placed inside the archways on all four sides of the pagoda: to the north was the figure of Vasudeva Rishi, to the east was the figure of Brahma Rishi, to the west was the figure of Samanara Rishi, and to the south was the figure of Sukkathanta Rishi. The people of Lamphun will hold a tradition of worshipping and bathing this pagoda after Songkran Day.
