Visit Lake Tekapo

#newzealandtrip My recent trip to Tekapo was nothing short of magical. Located in the heart of the South Island, Tekapo is famous for its stunning turquoise lake, starry skies, and surrounding mountains. I arrived and was immediately awed by the beauty of Lake Tekapo. The vibrant color of the water, caused by glacial flour, was unlike anything I'd ever seen, and I spent hours simply walking along the lake's edge, soaking in the views. A highlight of the trip was visiting the Church of the Good Shepherd, a small stone church perched by the lake. Its picturesque setting, with the mountains in the background and the lake in the foreground, felt like something straight out of a postcard. I also took the opportunity to stargaze at the nearby Mount John Observatory. Tekapo is part of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, and the night sky was truly breathtaking, filled with countless stars and constellations.
