My favorite part of the area is absolutely the Water Lily Pond. Countless Water Lilies cover the whole pond, it was such a sight. Probably, it would've been prettier if the Lilies are in bloom. Ryoanji is a Zen temple located in the northwest of Kyoto. It's a very soothing and quite place, plus, the fee is cheap; ¥500. #wintergetaway

Ninna-ji Temple

Another significant Buddhist temple in Kyoto is Ninna-ji. It is located in Ukyō-ku. The best part of the tour for me was really the peace and quite. There's not much crowd in this attraction, unlike the other temples of Kyoto where countless people go. So, I loved it here. I was able to really take in the view. Also, it is the head temple of the Omuro School of the Shingon Sect of Busdhist, so there are a lot of Buddhism students around. Great experience! Entrance fee is ¥500! #wintergetaway

Fushimi Inari Taisha

Big BIG tip for the ones who are visiting Fushimi Inari! Do not stick with the crowds at the beginning! Is always full of people and you cannot enjoy or take pictures decently! If you carry on, there is a huge bamboo forest, some beautiful graveyards and you climb all the way up and get an astonishing view of Kyoto. Then you have thousands of Shrines with no people there! Is worth it, a 1.5 hour hiking through the mountains! I loved it #traveltips #travelinspiration #triptips #wintergetaway

Kinkaku-ji

Kinkaku-ji temple is one of the landmark and icon of kyoto, Japan. What unique about this temple is the interesting architecture of the building and how it stands above the lake. The place is very quiet and the atmosphere is great here. I recommend to come here, amazing stuff. #wintergetaway #wintergetaway

Gion

Get teleported to another century in Gion area. The famous Geisha area in Kyoto which still runs the same for centuries! During the day, hundreds of people dress the Kimono for pictures and makes you feel you jumped in time. Is very touristic but still very lovely to explore. #beautifuldestinations #wintergetaway

Kinkaku-ji

Kinkakuji is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and according to his will it became a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in 1408. Kinkakuji was the inspiration for the similarly named Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion), built by Yoshimitsu's grandson, Ashikaga Yoshimasa, on the other side of the city a few decades later. #wintergetaway #wintergetaway
