Fushimi Inari Shrine- more than just the torii gates!

Fushimi Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of torii gates that cover some of the trails behind its main buildings. ⛩️ The these trails lead into the wooded forest and up Mount Inari. Some may be deterred by the vast amount of foreign tourists, I know we initially were, however, there are many alternative trails, with barely any hikers. We took a path less traveled and found ourselves surrounded by a serene bamboo forest and explored a number of shrines on the way to the top.
