A distant state of Zen

#Osaka Itinerary Early in the morning, I came to Shitennoji Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Osaka. It has stood for thousands of years and witnessed the changes of the city. I walked past the five-story pagoda and stepped onto the stone-paved approach to the temple. The sound of wind chimes reached my ears, and I suddenly felt calm inside. Afterwards, I took the train to Kyoto to visit Sanzen-in Temple hidden at the foot of Mount Hiei. This temple, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, is covered with lush cedar trees and moss. The stone lanterns and wooden doors at the entrance seem to tell of the peaceful years. I walked up the quiet stone steps and entered the garden. I saw a lush green moss carpet covering the entire temple. Several lovely "child Jizo" statues stood quietly among them, gazing at the visiting travelers with a smile. As you enter the temple, the warm sunlight shines through the paper door onto the tatami, and the air seems to be filled with history and Zen. I sat on the veranda, holding a cup of matcha, looking at the rippling water in the courtyard, and quietly feeling the calmness and tranquility of this land that has passed through thousands of years. At this moment, time seems to have slowed down, and only the sound of breeze blowing through the leaves accompanies this spiritual journey away from this world.
