Jojakko-ji Temple

Jojakko-ji Temple in Arashiyama is a great place to see the autumn leaves. The temple is famous for its red, orange, yellow, and green maple leaves, which create a beautiful display of colors. The fallen leaves on the bamboo path are interwoven with moss, creating a beautiful scene. When the sunlight shines through the red leaves, they sparkle even more. Jojakko-ji Temple is the head temple of the Nichiren sect. In Buddhist terms, "Jojakko" means "liberation" and "wisdom." We entered the temple with the first group of visitors in the morning. The courtyard was quiet and mysterious, giving us a sense of transcendence.
