From Zen to Bustle: Exploring the Heart and Passion of Osaka

Day 1: Tranquil Zen Today's itinerary took me to Saiho-ji Temple, located in the suburbs of Osaka. This ancient temple is filled with the essence of Zen, and being surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains makes time seem to slow down. The garden of Saiho-ji is simple and fresh, with every corner exuding harmony and serenity. As I walked along the path, I could see moss-covered stone slabs underfoot, and the ponds by the roadside reflected the lush green shadows of the trees. Every flower and leaf here made me feel a deep sense of peace. The architecture within the temple is also simple and unadorned, blending seamlessly into the natural landscape, allowing me to find a long-lost inner peace in this ancient land. Here, it seems possible to cast aside all worries and deeply feel the Zen teachings of 'non-action' and 'emptiness.' Day 2: The Pulse of Osaka On the second day, I visited another attraction in Osaka—Shinsaibashi. This is the busiest commercial area in Osaka, bustling with people both day and night. The streets are lined with various shops, and the dazzling array of goods made me stop in my tracks. Especially the neon lights of Dotonbori, which fill the entire street with a bustling atmosphere. Walking through the alleys, I also tasted the famous local snack—takoyaki, with its crispy exterior and tender interior, leaving a lasting impression. The hustle and bustle of this city is in stark contrast to the tranquility of Saiho-ji, but both deeply attract me in their own ways, showcasing the diverse and unique charm of Osaka.
