Celestine Hotel Gion, Kyoto

On my third trip to Kyoto, I stayed for six nights, three of which were at the Celestine Hotel Gion. It was my first time staying near Gion, so I specifically chose a larger room with its own hot spring. Aside from the price being a bit high, everything else was exceptionally good. The room was very new, and the facilities were quite luxurious, especially the tea set that my husband liked. The hotel's breakfast was very upscale, and the service was very attentive. Right across from the hotel is the Kennin-ji Temple, and if you walk straight down the road to the right, you'll reach the beautiful Hokan-ji Temple. Continuing further, you can visit the Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka leading up to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which is even better to stroll around in the early morning or evening when there are fewer people. I really liked this hotel and would stay here again if I return to Kyoto.
