【Kyoto·Reikanji Temple·Camellia】

Reikanji Temple is considered a popular landmark in Kyoto, located near the cherry blossom viewing spot, the Philosopher's Path. However, the temple's representative is not cherry blossoms, but camellias. During the special spring visits, the temple's camellias bloom wildly, creating a blanket of flowers that seems to cover the sky. Led by the Nikko Camellia, which has been designated as a 'Natural Monument of Kyoto City', there are more than 30 varieties of renowned camellia trees. The sight of the vibrant and vivid flower buds falling onto the lush green moss is picturesque. During this season, the temple also offers special camellia-patterned red seals, which are worth collecting.
