Highlights and attractions: * Yubatake (湯畑): The symbol and heart of Kusatsu Onsen, it is a large hot spring source with wooden pipes for transporting hot water, which naturally cools the water before it is sent to the various hot springs. The view of Yubatake with its steam and sulfuric smell is very impressive. * High-quality hot spring: Kusatsu's hot spring is highly acidic and contains many minerals, which are believed to have medicinal properties for skin diseases, aches and pains, and so much so that there is a saying that "except for unrequited love, all illnesses can be cured in Kusatsu". * Yumomi (湯もみ): This is a traditional method of stirring hot water with a large wooden plate. To cool the water before taking a dip, a Yumomi performance with local songs is performed at the Netsunoyu Theater. * Sainokawara Park (西の河原公園): A park with a hot spring stream flowing through it, it has a large outdoor hot spring bath where you can soak in nature.
