[Hiroshima] Quiet island time in Mitarai

#0yentrip I took a high-speed boat from Takehara to Mitarai. While on the boat, I could see the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea. When I arrived in Mitarai, I was impressed by the quiet atmosphere of a port town, and the beautifully preserved streetscape from the Edo period. It seems that this place is also registered as a Japanese Heritage site. As I walked through the narrow alleys and old buildings, I could feel the atmosphere of the time. I also had fond memories of stopping by the museum and a small cafe and chatting with the locals. As I walked along the sea, the sound of the quiet waves was soothing, and it was a place I would like to visit again in a different season.
