Off-the-beaten-path Quiet Getaway near Kunming｜Matixi Temple + Comfortable Citywalk Guide✨ This weekend, my sisters and I discovered the serene ancient temple hidden in Anning city—Matixi Temple, truly a rare peaceful secret spot in the Kunming metropolitan area! 🌟Recommended Route: Morning 👉 Matixi Temple (No. 176, Datun New Village, Anning City, Kunming) Afternoon 👉 Duolanda V Hotel Citywalk (No. 147, Beijing Road, Guandu District) 💫Matixi Temple Tips: 1⃣️The temple is small but peaceful; the entire Yang Shanzhou Memorial Forest is perfect for photos. Don’t forget to check in at the iconic big rock. 2⃣️Few people and beautiful scenery with free admission. It’s best to arrive between 9-10 AM when the light is perfect for shooting ancient architecture. 3⃣️The ancient trees inside the temple have a strong sense of history; shooting from a low angle looking up is amazing. 4⃣️If it’s sunny, be sure to sit in the temple square and soak up the sun—it’s very healing. 🏨 Accommodation Experience: Unexpectedly fell in love with Duolanda V, super close to the train station. The bathroom with separate wet and dry areas and the soft mattress were big pluses! The gym and self-service laundry are very traveler-friendly~ The location is super convenient, within walking distance to the subway station. 📸 Photo and Outfit Suggestions: •Matixi Temple suits solid colors or traditional Hanfu. •Bring a reflector; faces tend to be shadowed under the trees. •In the afternoon, you can change into casual wear at the hotel; the rooftop and restaurant are great for photos. 🚗 Transportation Guide: Matixi Temple is best reached by car (about 40 minutes from Kunming city center). The hotel is right next to Huan Cheng Nan Road subway station, and it’s only about 20 minutes by taxi to the airport.
