The interior design was done by Hong Kong's MQ Studio, which used colorful lines and textures to present the unique local geography. The 8.6-meter-high arrival lobby was inspired by the terraced fields of Yunnan, with an inverted structure and reflection effect to create a sense of space. Two glass lamps by avant-garde designer Mathieu Lehanneur add a futuristic, modern touch. A continuous copper light strip connects the front desk and the Copper Lounge, paying tribute to Kunming's proud copper mining industry. The lamps on the background wall represent sesame flowers growing around the mine. The 331 guest rooms and suites are more fresh and lively than the colorful public areas, with the "pillar" design language of traditional stilted buildings dividing the functional areas. In addition, the rooms feature a range of handicrafts and bronze animal ornaments that reflect the Yunnan style. The dining at Hyatt Regency Kunming is also excellent. The Yunxiang Chinese Restaurant combines Yunnan and Cantonese cuisine, and you can watch the signature fruit wood roast duck being made in the open kitchen.
