Daguan Park is located in the southwest of Kunming City, close to the northern shore of Caohai Lake in Dianchi Lake, and across the water from the beautiful and rocky Taihua Mountain. It is also known as "Jinhuapu". The park is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and was built in the first year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. The Grand View Tower was built in the 35th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty, and the park was named after it. It covers an area of ​​more than 700 acres and is the largest park in the city. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the famous scholar Sun Ranweng was inspired when he climbed the Grand View Tower and proudly wrote a 180-character long couplet, vividly presenting the scenery of Dianchi Lake and the thousands of years of history of Yunnan to the world. With the renovation in recent years, Daguan Park has become more and more beautiful. Every winter, the red-billed gulls flying from afar and the winter scenery in the park attract many tourists to come and visit. The park is currently open to the public free of charge.
