Half-Day Tour to the Ethnic Village

On April 15th, the Yunnan Provincial Health and Rehabilitation Center organized a group of 50 people from the Tibet cadre sanatorium group in Kunming to visit the Yunnan Ethnic Village. The Yunnan Ethnic Village is located on the edge of Dianchi Lake in the southwestern suburbs of Kunming, covering an area of 89 hectares. It faces the Western Hills Forest Park, Daguan Park, and Zheng He Park across the water. It serves as a window to showcase the social and cultural customs of Yunnan's twenty-six ethnic groups. Since its opening in February 1992, the Yunnan Ethnic Village has vividly displayed the architectural art, song and dance costumes, cultural customs, religious beliefs, and living habits of various ethnic groups in Yunnan. In addition, the Ethnic Village also hosts various ethnic minority festival activities, such as the Bai people's 'March Street', the Yi people's 'Torch Festival', the Dai people's 'Water-Splashing Festival', the Jingpo people's 'Munao Zongge Festival', and the Lisu people's 'Knife Pole Festival'. The Yunnan Ethnic Village is a microcosm of Yunnan's ethnic culture. As an important part of the Kunming Dianchi National Tourist Resort, it gathers excellent cultural and natural attractions of various ethnic groups in Yunnan. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national ethnic cultural base of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
