Kundasang War Memorial - Dedicated of the Sandakan Death Marches

#springitinerary 8.00 am - We left Kota Kinabalu to go to Sandakan after returning from vacation. 10.00 am - After a 2-hour journey, we arrived in Kundasang Town. While we were leisurely walking around, we saw an area nearby called the Kundasang War Memorial. We tried to explore the memorial after paying the entrance fee. This place is the Kundasang War Memorial to commemorate the British and Australian soldiers who died in the bloody event of the Sandakan POW Camp. They were forced by the Japanese army to walk from Sandakan to Ranau and then to Kota Kinabalu. This memorial has been established since 1962, and you will see in this memorial various sites and relics from this bloody event. 11.30 am - After almost 1 hour and 30 minutes of exploring the history here, we continued our journey to Sandakan.
