A beautiful spring garden

After that, a large-scale garden was built by the third lord of the domain, Prince Tsunatoshi, and it came to be called "Seishuen" from the poems of Akira Tobuchi. In the park, there are Izumi Shrine and Noh Gaku-den, which enshrine the Hosokawa family, and a Kokin Denju Room, which were relocated from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and garden trees with cherry blossoms and pine trees, umice that decorate ponds, and Tsukiyama, which is likened to Mt. Fuji, are conveying the mood of the Edo period to the present. The area, including Suizenji Seishuen, has been selected as one of the 100 famous waters of the Heisei period, and many people come for the "water of longevity" that springs in the precincts of Izumi Shrine.
