“Under the Shadow of Kinabalu: A Riverside Dream at Polumpung Melangkap”

#kotakinabalutrip Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site in Kota Belud is hands down one of the most breathtaking camping experiences I’ve ever had. Nestled along the crystal-clear Melangkap River, with Mount Kinabalu towering in the background, this place feels like a postcard come to life. From the moment we arrived, the scenery was surreal. The campsite sits right by the river, with cool, clean water flowing over smooth stones—perfect for dipping your feet or even taking a quick refreshing swim. The view of Kinabalu at sunrise is something I’ll never forget—majestic, serene, and absolutely worth waking up early for. Tents were already set up for us and came with basic but comfy mats, pillows, and blankets. Everything was clean, and there were proper toilets and showers available—simple but well-maintained. You can also bring your own tent if you prefer a full DIY experience. The vibe at the campsite is very relaxed and family-friendly. Kids were playing in the water, couples were enjoying quiet moments by the river, and groups were gathered around bonfires as the sun went down. It felt like a beautiful community enjoying nature together. One of the best parts was the BBQ and picnic experience. We grilled our own food under the stars with the sound of the river in the background—it doesn’t get more peaceful than that. Whether you’re into photography, camping, or just want a break from city life, Polumpung Melangkap is a true gem. It’s raw, refreshing, and offers one of the best natural backdrops in all of Sabah. Tip: Go on a clear day for the best views of Mount Kinabalu—and don’t forget your camera!
