It was destroyed in the fires of war during the Northern and Southern Courts period, but was rebuilt in the Japanese architectural style of the Kamakura period, made entirely of cypress. The principal image, the Eleven-faced Thousand-Armed Kannon, is enshrined here, and all of Natadera Temple's ceremonies are held here. The weeping cherry blossoms on both sides and the vivid vermilion Kaoden were stunning. If you had gone a little earlier, it would have been in full bloom and you would have seen an even more beautiful sight. From here is the entrance to the garden for special viewing.
