Two-colored River, Ubon Ratchathani

The Two-Colored River, or as the locals call it, Don Dan Pak Mae Mun, is located in Ban Wen Buk, Khong Chiam Subdistrict, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, approximately 84 kilometers from the city center. The Two-Colored River is where two important rivers, the Mekong and Mun Rivers, meet, resulting in a comparison of the two rivers’ distinctly different colors. The Mekong River is a milky white, while the Mun River is a greenish-blue. This is the origin of the phrase “Khong is the color of cement, Mun is the color of indigo.” The two-colored river can be clearly seen from the slopes of the bank in front of Khong Chiam Temple and some areas of Huai Mak Village. April is the month when the color difference is most clearly visible. #NatureTourism
