The history of Kaymakli Underground City is quite long. Before entering the room, you can see its cross-section at the door. Currently, only the fourth underground floor is open to tourists. It’s hard to imagine that there are more than four floors here. The passage is short, narrow and sloping. You have to squat while walking and visiting. There is not much room to stand up straight. People who are too big may not be able to enter. The history of underground caves originated from people's escape from religious and political persecution. It's a sad historical site. One can imagine how people at that time lived in small caves in order to survive. The cave is intricately designed. There are signs along the way. Just follow the arrows.
