It is a sacred place for "Hakusan faith," which worships the sacred mountain Hakusan. During its heyday in the latter half of the Muromachi period, it flourished as a huge base for Hakusan faith, with 48 shrines, 36 halls, 6,000 temples, and 8,000 warrior monks. 🐉 However, during the Sengoku period, all of the buildings within the temple grounds were destroyed by the Ikko Ikki uprising. 😣 The grounds are quite spacious, but recent excavations have revealed that the former Heisenji Hakusan Shrine was approximately 10 times its current size! ️The grounds of this temple are covered with beautiful moss from the rainy season through to summer, and the scenery is so famous that it rivals that of Kyoto's Moss Temple, Saihoji Temple✨✨The approach to the temple is also very famous and has been selected as one of the "100 Best Roads in Japan."
