Turkey: Kars - Armenian border town

Despite the impressive history, today Kars is a small agricultural based town of about 80,000 people, making it the largest Turkish city on the border with Armenia. Kars is full things to see and to try, come here for 2-3 days and you will not regret it.😋 One of the city’s most famous landmarks is the imposing Kars Castle, which has stood for centuries and is a testament to the city’s rich history. Take a stroll through the historic streets of Kars and marvel at the beautiful Ottoman-era buildings that line the streets. Walk along the streets and you’ll notice there are reminders of the Russian occupation in town including the Fethiye Mosque. Yes, it’s got two pencil-thin minarets, but other than that, it looks very much like the Russian Orthodox church it once was. ⛪️ Try local cheese, and honey they are the specialty of this place, buy some of these good as a present for your family and go to have a goose for dinner at Pushkin restaurant by watching Caucasian dancers performance, it’s the must thing to do in Kars☝🏼 You can come to Kars by plane or by bus, but the most famous way to come here is by train from Ankara (It will take you 32 hours).🚂 #trip #kars #turkey
