Another free attraction discovered in Dushanzi

Dushanzi Mud Volcano is located in Dushanzi District, Karamay City, Xinjiang, China. It is one of the rare natural landscapes in the world. This mud volcano is located about 1 kilometer southwest of the district, at an altitude of about 958 meters, mainly composed of Neogene strata (mudstone, siltstone, sandstone). Its formation is due to the continuous eruption of underground natural gas under pressure, which accumulates into mud hills. The mud ejected by the Dushanzi Mud Volcano is gray-green, slightly oily, and when it erupts, the mud, sand, and gravel it carries fall to the ground, slowly accumulating into a hill! The scenery around the mud volcano is charming, especially in the evening when the sky is full of colorful clouds. Climbing along the wooden plank road is not recommended for those with poor physical strength! Overlooking the whole view of Dushanzi from the top of the mountain is simply amazing 😎😎. The sun is too strong during the day, so we chose to climb in the evening and then stayed in the car at the foot of the mountain 😎. It is very lively here at night, with citizens coming up to escape the heat, small vendors selling drinks and snacks, and folk artists playing music. There are restrooms, and self-driving enthusiasts can camp here, which is very convenient! A free, beautiful, and convenient attraction is too good to miss!
