Bhagsu Nag Waterfall, Dharamshala

#favouriteitinerary The Bhagsu Nag Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located near Bhagsu Village, around 2 kilometers from McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The waterfall is nestled in the scenic foothills of the Dhauladhar Range, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and trekkers. The waterfall itself is a beautiful sight, cascading down from a height of about 30 feet. The surrounding area is lush and green, with dense forests and cool, refreshing streams, making it a peaceful retreat away from the bustling town. The trek to the waterfall is relatively easy and takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace, making it a popular short hike for visitors. At the base of the waterfall, there is a serene pool where visitors often stop to relax and enjoy the cool water. The area is also home to the Bhagsu Nag Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, which adds a spiritual aspect to the visit. The temple is located just a short walk from the waterfall, and it’s a lovely spot to take a break and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. The Bhagsu Nag Waterfall is especially picturesque during the monsoon season, when the flow is at its peak, creating a mesmerizing view of the water rushing down the rocks. However, it remains a tranquil spot year-round, with visitors coming to enjoy its natural beauty, take photos, or simply meditate in its peaceful surroundings. For those visiting McLeod Ganj or Dharamshala, the Bhagsu Nag Waterfall is a must-visit, offering both natural beauty and a peaceful, spiritual atmosphere. #favouriteitinerary #naturalwonders

Kareri Lake

Approx. 10 Km trek from the base. The whole trek is just awesome. On an average it takes 4-5 hours, and if possible spent one night there and enjoy born fire and sun rise. 70% of the path is just beside the small river, but steep ascent. Temperature is generally low at Lake, so keep some warm clothes with you. Rain is totally unpredictable, so try to keep a rain coat with you . Avoid trekking in monsoon as it is a bit risky that time. In the Kareri village there are so many home stays and Hosteller also, so Friday night you can spent there and then early morning start trekking.
