Hasedera Temple is the place worth visiting in Kamakura‼ ️

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 Hasedera Temple is located in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It was built in 736 AD and enshrines the Twelve-Faced Guanyin statue. Legend has it that this Guanyin statue was carved from a whole piece of huge wood, and was discovered and enshrined here after drifting to Kamakura. Hasedera Temple is famous for its magnificent statue of Kannon, which is approximately 9.18 meters tall and is the highest grade wooden Buddha statue in Japan. Compared to the Great Buddha of Kamakura, Hasedera Temple is not as well-known, but it is closer to the station, has a larger area, and has more complete surrounding shops. Even if you don't go during the hibiscus flower season, it is still beautiful. The front yard of the entire temple is a typical Japanese garden with a pond and a small bridge. You only need to climb down a few stairs to see the unbeatable sea view of Kamakura. There is also a lovely Jizo that is worth checking out, which is very suitable for family trips.
