I suggest ditching tour groups that drive up the monastery. Instead hike up!!!! The feeling is very satisfying and fullfilling. You can stay at the hotels at the base of the Meteora. Wake up early and slowly climb. If you want to catch the sunrise wake up earlier duhhhh. Anyway as you climb up the rocky pathway it kinda dawn on you how the priest and priestess and everyone at the monastery hike up and down everytime they need something from town. I love the Kalambaka area here. Everyone is so warm and friendly. Every morning everyone sending good vibes greeting each other "Kalimera" which is good morning. I will always Kalimera to you too lol. The hotel that I stayed in literally under the rocks...love the view...love how cooling it is....If you are a nature person, you can feel all the earthly energy giving you it's abundance....You will feel very recharged.
