Kaifeng, the capital of the Song Dynasty

I went on a spontaneous trip with my travel buddy to Kaifeng, Henan, one of the eight ancient capitals with more than two thousand years of history. D1 Xiangyang-Zhengzhou-Songcheng In the evening, after a 3-hour high-speed train ride, snacking on spicy chicken with beer, we embarked on a carefree journey and stayed overnight at Mo Li Guesthouse in the Drum Tower District, a Southeast Asian-style courtyard, so relaxing! D2 Kaifeng Prefecture - Da Xiangguo Temple - Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden - Stay at Mo Li Guesthouse Hot and spicy soup, fried dough sticks, vegetable horns, and buns, a local breakfast, kick-started our day. The city's transportation was all taken care of by shared electric scooters, which were perfect for us who are over fifty. The attractions in Kaifeng are compact and suitable for our age group. For lunch, we had local specialties like Yellow River carp and soup dumplings. After a midday rest at the guesthouse, we went out at 3 pm to Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden for a Song Dynasty-style tea boiling session by the stove as the sun set, experiencing the prosperous Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden. D3 Iron Pagoda Park - Wansui Mountain Martial Arts City - Songcheng - Zhengzhou - Xiangyang I got up early and rode my electric scooter through the small alleys, passing through Daliang Gate into the imperial city. After a quick breakfast at a roadside shop, I headed straight to Iron Pagoda Park (free of charge). I looked up the history of the Iron Pagoda online (I won't explain here), took a tour, and then went to Wansui Mountain. There were so many people at Wansui Mountain, I browsed, watched, squeezed through the crowds, and checked in. This place, hyped by the internet, is too suitable for the young, sigh! I saved some energy and headed back. In summary, Kaifeng's impact includes the prosperity of Bianjing, the honest simplicity of the people of Henan, the distinctive features of the Central Plains' food culture, and an extremely high cost-performance ratio. It's worth a visit.
