The Yang Family Mansion of Tianbo - a legacy of great spirit endures

One morning, braving the cold wind, I visited the Yang Family Mansion of Tianbo. The Yang Family Mansion Memorial Hall was built to commemorate the patriotic general of the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Ye, who was a national hero in the resistance against the Liao Dynasty. The Yang family was known for their loyalty and service to the country generation after generation. Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty, Zhao Guangyi, bestowed upon them a residence by the Jinshui River near Tianbo Gate, known as the 'Wuning Mansion' for its 'Pure Breeze and Honest Water Droplet Tower', and personally inscribed the plaque 'Yang Family Mansion of Tianbo'. The current mansion is a modern reconstruction, adjacent to the Dragon Pavilion Park, which is the site of the Northern Song Dynasty imperial palace. The entire complex is built in the Song architectural style, simple and elegant, with grand and magnificent halls and pavilions, making it a rather spectacular official residence.
