Ishikawa 🇯🇵Yakuoin Onsenji Temple

Gyoki, who discovered Yamashiro Onsen about 1,300 years ago, founded Honji as a guardian temple for the hot spring. The shrine preserves many historic treasures, including the Eleven-Faced Avalokitesvara statue from the early Heian period (794-1185) and the Acala statue from the Kamakura period (1185-1333). In addition, the pagoda dedicated to Myokaku Shonin, the founder of the Gokushon, has been designated as an important national cultural property.
