That's because Hiap Joo bakery in Johor Bahru bakes their banana cake, biscuits and buns in a traditional charcoal oven (using wood fire) and everything is handmade and baked with love. It just taste better when food is cooked using traditional methods. I, personally, love their banana cakes as it has a nice brown layer while the cake inside is moist, soft and not too sweet. It is very fragrant as well. Amongst other baked goods, you can find butter cake, coffee cake (sold on certain days), and buns such as otah buns, coconut buns, butter buns etc. There's always a long queue outside this shop, so do be prepared to wait abit but the wait is Worth it.
