Peacock Lake at Jiuzhaigou

Peacock Lake at Jiuzhaigou National Park, a 5A-rated park in China, is a vast area with an expansive lake. The shallow waters are blue, while the deeper parts are emerald green. It's called Peacock Lake because, from a high vantage point, the shape of the lake resembles a peacock. During the autumn foliage season, colorful leaves fall into the lake and spread out, resembling a peacock fanning its tail. Jiuzhaigou, or Jiuzhaigou National Park, is located in the mountains of Sichuan Province, China. Covering an area of 720 square kilometers, it boasts 144 freshwater lakes of various sizes. According to legend, a heavenly deity dropped a mirror, which shattered and formed these crystal-clear lakes. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1992.
