Summer is coming, it's time for rafting and mountain climbing at Gulong Mountain

Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon gets a 💯 from me! A must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts! The Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon is located in Jingxi, Baise, and compared to the Detian Transnational Waterfall, it's a bit more pristine. This place is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with its combination of original forest mountain climbing➕rafting➕waterfalls➕cave exploration. Gulong Mountain is adjacent to the Tongling Grand Canyon, and it's about a one and a half hour drive from the Chongzuo Ming Shi Manor. Transportation here is not very convenient, so it's more suitable for self-driving or chartered tours. Travel recommendation: The Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon is better for an afternoon visit, as it is now the high water season (which starts in May), so the water level is higher in the afternoon, making rafting more fun. Many locals feel that the Tongling Grand Canyon is not as fun as Gulong Mountain, and since the two attractions are next to each other, Tongling has more mountain climbing which is more physically demanding and time-consuming. Gulong Mountain tickets can be purchased on the day of at the CITS Fun Border, with several types of packages available. The more commonly purchased ones are the Classic Rafting of Three Gorges and Two Caves for 218 yuan/person; and the Free Rafting of Three Gorges and Two Caves for 190 yuan/person. The difference between the two is that the classic rafting includes a guide to help paddle, while free rafting requires you to paddle yourself. If it's your first time rafting, I don't recommend doing it by yourself. First, it's physically demanding and takes about 3 hours in total; second, there are several places with rapid currents and water levels over two meters, which can easily lead to capsizing or danger; third, there are two dark limestone caves that are not easy to pass through quickly. We encountered several free-rafting tourists along the way, most of whom were physically exhausted and stopped there. The whole scenic area tour takes about 3-4 hours. First, after buying tickets, you have to walk down the mountain for about 40 minutes to the rafting starting point, which is very physically demanding! But the path is mostly through the original forest, so it's very healing and the air is excellent! Once you reach the rafting point, boats will be assigned, and the water journey takes about 1-3 hours, depending on how fast the guide paddles, it can be completed in 1 hour. After getting ashore, you will see a large waterfall, which is very high and has a strong flow, directly resembling 'a thousand feet of flying flow', which is particularly shocking! The last part is entering the limestone cave from the side of the waterfall, which is about 1km in total, and it's quite dark inside, where you can touch the stalactites and enjoy some underground adventure. Special attention needed❗❗❗ 1. The scenic area and the ticket office are very far apart. It takes a long time to walk in, and when coming out, you need to wait for the scenic area shuttle bus (included in the ticket price), which takes about 15-20 minutes. If you're not physically fit, it's not recommended, as it can be very tiring. 2. Some rafting guides may ask for tips, you can decide whether to give based on your own situation, it's not mandatory, and it's okay not to give money. 3. There are shoe covers for sale at the rafting starting point. If you're doing classic rafting, you don't need to buy them, as you won't get wet! You might consider buying a phone case, as there are places where water splashes, and there's a lot of mist near the waterfall! But remember to bargain! 4. When rafting, remember to hold onto your phone, if it falls, you won't be able to get it back!
