The former site of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army's Yu-E Advance Column is located in Bazimen Village, Xinshi Town, Jingshan City, Hubei Province. In January 1940, the Yu-E Independent Guerrilla Detachment of the New Fourth Army was reorganized into the Yu-E Advance Column of the New Fourth Army, with Li Xiannian as the commander. The headquarters was set up here. The former site is a quadrangle-style building, 12 meters wide with three rooms, 16 meters deep with three rooms, and has a hard mountain roof with a brick-wood structure. Jingshan Bazimen is the birthplace of the Yu-E Advance Column of the New Fourth Army, the formation site of the E-Yu Border Region Party Committee, the pioneering place of the E-Yu Border Region government, and the cradle of the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army. It played an important role in the establishment and development of the E-Yu Border Region.
