Walking, or biking, along Shanghai’s maze-like alleyways is one of the best ways to discover a city that moves at a different tempo between its grand avenues and tall skyscrapers and its old brick-walled lane houses and narrow alleyways. It is in the latter where you discover the soul of Shanghai. The clothes hanging in the street drying up to the intermittent sunshine, the modern start up hubs popping up in between old food stalls, the little doors that give access to the private / yet quite publicly shared life of the neighbors… This is a lovely Shanghai, one that breathes far from the luxury and the neon lights, but yet one that breathes strong every day it passes. #visitshanghai
