Zicheng Ruins

The Jiaxing Zicheng Ruins are the site of the successive prefectural government offices in Jiaxing and the former site of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom's Tingwang Mansion. The Zicheng Ruins were first built during the Huanglong period of the Three Kingdoms Wu. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, a seven-entrance Tingwang Mansion was built within Zicheng, historically known as the "Seven Layers of Heaven." In 1937, the enemy and puppet regime built the Pacification Headquarters barracks here. The south gate tower of Zicheng is the only ancient city tower remaining on the city walls in Zhejiang Province.
