A must-see in Jiaxing, a sacred and romantic Catholic church

At No. 55 Ziyang Street, Nanhu District, Jiaxing, there is a stunning building - Jiaxing Catholic Church, also known as the Church of Our Lady of Apparition. The church was built in 1917 by an Italian priest, Han Rilu, and was completed in 1930 after 13 years. The church is in the late Gothic style, with some Romanesque features. The most eye-catching feature is the two 57-meter-high bell towers, which are particularly spectacular. Walking into the church is like stepping into another world. The floor is covered with colorful tiles in the middle and terrazzo on both sides, which are beautiful in the sunlight. The columns are arranged in a neat row, with a delicate little angel sculpture on each column, and the patterns on the top of the columns are delicate and exquisite, full of artistic sense. The church faces north and south, with a Latin cross layout, with the altar, sanctuary, and nave on the same vertical line, intersecting vertically with the nave, solemn and sacred.
