Zhejiang's Only Ancient City Tower | Jiaxing Zicheng (1620)

| Jiaxing Zicheng (1620). Jiaxing Zicheng is the earliest city wall in Jiaxing. Inside the city, it has historically served as the government office for the county, prefecture, military, circuit, and prefecture. During the Yuan Dynasty, a tower named 'Liqiao' was built above the main gate of Zicheng. The Liqiao Tower was rebuilt twice during the Ming Dynasty. The existing Zicheng Liqiao Tower and the walls on the east and west sides were reconstructed in the 34th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1908). It is the only ancient city tower remaining on the city walls in Zhejiang Province.
