A Trip to Jianshui Tuanshan Folk Houses

Tuanshan residential buildings in Jianshui County, the terminus of the meter-gauge train. After getting to know the locals, I learned that the train ticket costs 140 yuan, with 3 stops in total. The one-way trip takes more than two hours, with each stop for half an hour. Personally, I think it’s a waste of time, so I decided to drive to these three attractions. On the way from Xianghui Bridge to Tuanshan Folk House, the spring scenery is bright along the way, with water-retaining rice fields, plump ducks, an ancient bridge over Jingmo Creek, and old people enjoying the cool under the trees at the bridgehead... The ticket platform for Tuanshan Folk House Scenic Area costs 32 yuan, and you can finish the tour in one hour. The scenic area is very clean, especially the toilet facilities are good, clean and odorless. Walking through the narrow alleys, one old house after another is full of traces of time. The former splendor and glory are now nothing but weeds between tiles, weeds between beams, and deep courtyards... I like the preservation of the original ecology of the old houses in the village, but it is a pity that the houses are still there but their souls are gone! Walking into the General’s Residence, the courtyard is full of villagers selling local specialties; walking into the Sima Mansion, clothes are hung out to dry; walking into a mansion with great anticipation, you will find that a homestay is already being built inside… Tuanshan folk houses are ancient houses, but more importantly, they are marks of history. Ancient houses with culture are storybooks, and ancient villages with connotation and heritage are phonographs. Perhaps, Tuanshan folk houses need to find their own souls!
