How to Get to Jianmen Pass and What to Do There?

Important Notes: * Bird Path (free) and Monkey Path (paid) require prior reservation via the WeChat mini program. * On the day of your visit, you can get a 30% discount on the entrance ticket if you present a cross-county high-speed rail ticket. * There is a Route 7 bus stop right outside Jianmen Pass Station. You can scan the QR code to pay ¥7 for the ride. * Avoid using the restroom at the station immediately after disembarking, as Route 7 buses are scheduled to match high-speed rail times. Missing the bus means a long wait. [Recommended Itinerary] North Gate → Cable Car No.1 → Fairy Gallery → Bird Path → Glass Viewing Platform → Liangshan Temple → Return to the intersection → Big and Small Tunnels → Liangshan Pavilion → (Sky Ladder Gorge Walkway) → Stone Bamboo Peak → One-Line Sky → Cliff Gallery → Guanlou Tower → South Gate Based on various sources, we followed the above route for a one-day round trip from Chengdu. Entering through the North Gate and exiting via the South Gate takes over 5 hours. Since we weren’t brave enough, we skipped climbing the Monkey Path and only admired it from afar. It’s clear that the Monkey Path is even more challenging than the Bird Path! If you’re here, you should definitely choose one path to climb. Apart from the Monkey Path and Bird Path, the scenery at Jianmen Pass isn’t particularly outstanding. After completing the Bird Path, you can skip Liangshan Temple and turn right to take the downhill route. Liangshan Temple is quiet and perfect for relaxation and meditation. On the way down, you’ll pass by Guanlou Tower, the iconic building of Jianmen Pass Scenic Area, where you can take photos with the famous phrase "One man guards the pass, ten thousand cannot break through." There are shuttle buses between the South Gate and North Gate, ideal for those who prefer not to walk. We hiked all the way to the South Gate and then took a bus back to the high-speed rail station.
