Night Climb of Wugong Mountain on May 24 (Guide Included)

Conquering the small yet mighty Wugong Mountain! ⛰️⛰️⛰️ The weather was perfect today, and there were lots of people. The sunrise and sea of clouds at Wugong Mountain are truly worth it. Here’s my personal experience: 🧩 Gear: Based on others' guides, I packed a windbreaker, water bottle, power bank, snacks, raincoat, flashlight, sunglasses, mask, insect repellent, trash bags, and cash. 👆🏻 However, I found some items unnecessary: Water bottle (I drank a bottle of mineral water on the way up and bought a cup at the top, so I didn’t use my water bottle at all). Flashlight: There are small night lights along the path, and the phone’s flashlight is more than enough (I followed the route, so I didn’t use the flashlight at all). Cash: The signal at the top is good, so I didn’t use cash. ID card (a QR code is enough to enter, so forgetting the ID card is not a problem). Hiking stick: A professional hiking stick might help, but a cheap bamboo stick is unnecessary and heavy. If you need a hiking stick, choose the lightest one. I tried my friend’s for a while, but my arm got sore, and we ended up giving it away. Climbing with hands on the railings is easier, in my opinion, than using a hiking stick. 👌🏻 Must-bring items: 1️⃣ Windbreaker (I wore it after passing the Despair Slope and the last three peaks. At the top, there’s no shelter from the wind, and the windbreaker keeps you warm. However, a thick coat with a raincoat works just as well). 2️⃣ Snacks: Cucumbers! The smell of others eating cucumbers was irresistible. Candy, bread, crackers, and chocolate are also good. 3️⃣ Insect repellent 🌟🌟🌟 At sunrise, all the bugs wake up, which is terrifying for someone afraid of bugs like me. I sprayed insect repellent on my clothes and wore glasses, a mask, and gloves to watch the sunrise comfortably. Everyone borrowed my spray, and I ended up spraying it on everyone around us. 🕒 Timeline: 11:20 PM - Start night climb 11:50 PM - Reach ticket checkpoint 1:55 AM - Start climbing Hero Slope 4:30 AM - Reach the top and start watching the sunrise 5:20 AM - Sunrise 8:30-10:00 AM - Queue for the Golden Summit cable car down 10:50 AM - Reach Zhong’an cable car and queued until 12:00 PM to descend. My friend and I usually work out, so when we got tired climbing, we just took a few minutes to rest without stopping at rest stations for long. #WugongMountainGuide #WugongMountainSeaOfClouds #NightClimbWugongMountain
