Taking advantage of the perfect autumn weather, I took a day off, grabbed some friends, and rushed into this spontaneous three-day trip~ The high-speed train goes straight to Quzhou Station. After picking up the car I rented online in advance, the first stop was the "China Danxia" World Heritage site—Jianglang Mountain! Driving on the road, from afar, you can see three stone pillars standing at the end of the golden rice fields, like three heavenly pillars piercing the sky. No need to ask—they are Lang Peak, Ya Peak, and Ling Peak. As the car moves forward, the peaks sometimes connect as one, sometimes stand alone, and occasionally light beams leak through the peaks. The natural craftsmanship is truly breathtaking! Although the fog was a bit heavy that day, the mountain scenery was veiled in a thin layer of mist, adding a touch of dreamy beauty~ After parking, we went to the tourist center to transfer to the scenic shuttle bus, which took us directly near Kaiming Zen Temple. The inscription "Namo Amitabha" written by Master Hongyi at the temple gate was especially charming. The dawn redwoods and maple trees at the entrance had just turned red, and the sunlight shining on them created a colorful spectacle. Every casual photo was like an autumn masterpiece, so beautiful that it was hard to leave~ Following the path forward, passing Huixian Rock, we arrived at Xiake Pavilion. Legend has it that Xu Xiake checked in at Jianglang Mountain three times. Indeed, standing here, you can see the full view of the three stones. No wonder this travel guru was so captivated~ Walking back a short distance, we reached the famous One Line Sky, where only a sliver of sky is visible between two mountain peaks. The cliffs on both sides look like they were carved by knives and axes. When the through breeze blows, it instantly dispels the heat from hiking, feeling cool and super comfortable~ Passing through One Line Sky, we arrived at Dengtianping and unexpectedly found that Lang Peak Tianyou (South Line) was open! Who could refuse this surprise! We decisively chose to climb up. The higher we went, the more we felt the word "dangerous"—the steps were carved out of the cliff, winding along the mountain's shape. On one side was a steep rock wall, on the other a bottomless valley, and beneath our feet were endless mountains. I'm not afraid of heights, but I couldn't help but hold the railing tightly, my heart pounding. I gritted my teeth and climbed to the highest point, Wentian Pavilion. Standing in the pavilion and looking into the distance, the feeling of "to reach the summit and see all other mountains as small" instantly filled me! The mountains rolled on endlessly, the forests were dyed in layers of color, and the nearby peaks stood tall and solitary. All fatigue was healed by this beautiful scenery~ We chose the North Line to descend. There are two routes: one steep and one gentle. We insisted on the thrilling one! Although there were steps all the way, the slope was really steep, and there was even a 90℃ vertical ladder! Also, the North Line is on the back of the mountain, with dim lighting. Occasionally, a cold wind blew. I clung tightly to the handrail the whole way, trembling as I carefully moved down. Passing Zhonggu Cave and Yanxia Pavilion, we finally returned to the scenic shuttle bus station. The whole trip took about 3 hours. Although the ascent and descent were thrilling enough, the railings and handrails in the scenic area were very thoughtful, making us feel very safe~ Friendly reminder: this path is one-way only. Once chosen, you have to grit your teeth and finish it. The narrow steps don’t allow turning around at all~ Looking back while descending, Lang Peak still stood tall under the clear autumn sky, upright and calm, as if seeing off every traveler who comes to enjoy the autumn. Taking advantage of Quzhou's free travel and the perfect autumn, Jianglang Mountain is really worth rushing for!
