#Travel Course Connections around Hallasan: Post-Climb Healing and Jeju Nature If you've planned a day-long climb to Hallasan, the healing experience after your descent is as important as the climb itself. I planned a connecting course the day after completing the Baekrokdam summit via the Seongpanak Trail to soothe my weary body and deeply experience Jeju's nature. While a hot spring or spa might be a must after a long and arduous hike, I opted for Jeju's unique natural healing experience. For a morning warm-up, I visited Jeolmul Natural Recreation Forest. Walking through the dense cedar forest and inhaling the phytoncides, my muscles, tense from the previous day's climb, relaxed and my mind cleared. The dense forest shaded me from the sunlight, allowing for a refreshing stroll even in the middle of the day. For lunch, I visited a local restaurant in Jeju City to recharge my energy from the hike. I particularly enjoyed the "reward mentality" of grilling thick cuts of meat at a famous black pork restaurant near Hallasan. Alternatively, you can opt for hearty Jeju dishes like momguk (Korean beef soup) or gogiguksu (noodles with meat). In the afternoon, we visited Eco Land Theme Park near Hallasan Mountain. A comfortable train ride through the Gotjawal primeval forest allowed us to rest our weary legs and experience the wonders of Jeju's nature. For our final stop, we chose Sangumburi, where we admired the vast expanse of silver grass. Gazing at the silvery silver grass swaying in the wind from the summit, the lingering memories of our Hallasan climb contrasted with the peaceful Jeju landscape, leaving us deeply moved. While climbing Hallasan Mountain is challenging, the effort is rewarded with a seamless, interconnected course that allows us to experience some of Jeju's most beautiful forests and oreums.
