South Korea's Jeju Island Hamdeok Beach Aimi Jeju Beach Hotel 아이미제주비치호텔

Address: 474 Johamhaean-ro, Jeju-si, South Korea Atmosphere/Facilities: Parking, Bathtub, Self Check-in, Unrepaired Facility Issues Features: Beautiful beach, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, convenience store on the first floor Average Price: 2000 Taiwanese dollars Rating: A resort hotel located at Hamdeok Beach, we booked a room that boasts beautiful sea views and a bathtub for soaking while looking at the sea. The building shares rooms with another hotel, and different hotel signs are posted at the doorways. There is a fair amount of parking space, but it's not evenly distributed to the rooms, and there may be a shortage during peak season. There are more parking spaces facing the beach at the entrance, and a few behind the convenience store. There is also an underground parking garage. In the lobby, you can see the check-in counters for both hotels, and the other hotel always has staff available! This one, however, you can go a long time without seeing any staff. You have to check in and get your card from a self-service machine. The room felt okay upon entering, with a balcony. The sea view is indeed nice. The bed is also comfortable. But the space is very small, and the bathroom is slippery and difficult to use because of the bathtub. The bathroom door cannot be closed and is tilted. When asked, hotel staff said it was intentional to prevent guests from getting hurt. But the shower water keeps splashing into the living room. If they're worried about guests getting hurt, why not just remove it and install a larger shower curtain? A small curtain is practically useless. The screen is damaged, the faucet of the washbasin is shaky, the fridge's sliding door is broken, and the air conditioning vent is severely moldy. When reported to the hotel, they showed no intention of dealing with it, giving us a cold look as if to say we're fully booked, stay or leave, it's up to you, and they won't get anyone to fix it. In short, the advantages are the beautiful scenery and the bed. When checking out, we saw the housekeeping staff actively replacing mattresses. Maybe they're spending all their budget on new beds. Don't have too high expectations for the condition of the facilities and the attitude of the staff. The presence of self-service check-in machines at the counter is a clear indication that they don't want to be bothered unless someone is injured.
