Futamiura Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) If you want to experience the beauty of the Ise-Shima coastline, a visit to Futamiura is highly recommended. It's best to go in the late afternoon when the sea breeze is gentle, making it neither too hot nor too cold. You can enjoy the blue sky before sunset, the golden hues of the sunset, and the deep blue after dusk—all stunningly beautiful. Meoto Iwa, or the Wedded Rocks, are actually two rocky formations in the sea. Many couples come here to pray. The male rock stands 9 meters tall, while the female rock is 4 meters high. They are connected by five sacred ropes, with a distance of 9 meters between them. These two rocks have stood side by side for years, symbolizing the bond and companionship of a married couple, making it a site rich in stories. To reach Futamiura Meoto Iwa, you can take a bus or JR train from Ise Station. Afterward, it's just a short walk along the coastline, making it quite convenient.
