How can a coffee booth in a hostel make such good desserts?!

#ipohfood Brownstone is a backpackers hostel. But at the corner there’s some sorta coffee booth/counter serving both coffee and desserts. The coffee was good though nothing too remarkable. But the desserts are amazing. The tiramisu retains all the traditional elements: mascarpone cheese, lady finger, alcohol, cocoa, and put all flavors together in harmony. But what I enjoyed most is the tieguanyin taro sponge cake. The cake texture is as fluffy as it can get, and most importantly, infused with super strong tieguanyin flavor. The taro fillings is too tea-infused but with a different intensity and texture, which contribute to an overall rich and complex sensation. Honestly speaking, the seating for the “cafe” is not too comfortable. But it’s okay to take the space of the common area of the hostel, since it’s under the same company. P/S: they are currently under renovation, but will soon be back to business for better ambience!
