#summerdestinations Hiking through Imbros Gorge in Crete was one of the highlights of my summer vacation! Located in the southwestern part of the island, near Chora Sfakion, this gorge is a hidden gem. The entrance fee is only €2.50, making it a budget-friendly adventure. The 8 km hike is relatively easy and took me about 2-3 hours, with the narrowest points of the gorge creating a dramatic and stunning landscape. The towering cliffs, lush greenery, and the occasional mountain goat made the trek feel like a true escape into nature. The path is well-marked, and the scenery kept me captivated the entire way. At the end of the hike, I reached the village of Komitades, where I treated myself to a well-deserved meal at a local taverna. If you’re up for more exploration, the stunning Frangokastello beach isn’t far.
