Paoay Church: Historic Gem in Ilocos Norte

Paoay Church, also known as the Saint Augustine Church, is located in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The church was built by the Augustinian Order in 1694 and is known for its unique architectural style, Provençal design, and Baroque features. The church is composed of a 24-meter bell tower, buttresses for extra support, and an archway. The church is made of red coral stone, which was extracted from nearby Paoay Lake, and its walls are approximately 1.68 meters thick.
