Weekend Getaway Around Zhengzhou｜A Mountain Oxygen Retreat with Kids.

Address｜Located in Songshiping Village, Bali Town, Huixian City, Xinxiang, Henan Province, nestled deep in the misty Taihang Mountains within the Bali Valley Scenic Area Mountain Lodge. It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Zhengzhou. First, the perks 🥂 The lodge features a mountain-view restaurant, café, outdoor pool, and campsite—perfect for tiring out the kids. At the outdoor campsite, you might even spot grazing cattle, and there’s a sky staircase and swings for great photo ops. Surrounded by mountains, the lodge is ideal for creek trekking when there’s ample rainfall—little ones would love it. During our visit, the creek was dry, but walking on the rocky riverbed was still fun. The service is excellent too, with every staff member smiling and eager to help with guests' needs. Downside: The lodge isn’t cheap, and you’ll also need to pay a per-person parking fee (¥40 each) to enter the scenic area. For our car with two people, that meant ¥80—a bit of a rip-off. 🚴 We brought our kid’s balance bike, and with all the slopes at the lodge, they had a blast riding around. For moms, it’s the perfect escape to the mountains—not too hot, not too cold—just fresh air, no work stress, and plenty of photo opportunities. Pure bliss.
